The agressive earthworm !

 Earthworm

Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: annelida
class: clitellata
Order: Opisthopora
Suborder: Lumbricina
Species: Lumbricus
Genus: L. rubellus
I found this earthworm during the trail through the bondla forest, at the first glance the earthworm was tumbling, wriggling like a snake guess it was ๐Ÿ˜ angry, so i misunderstood it for the former, but then i realised it was a fat chubby earthworm.๐Ÿ˜Œ
Earthworms belong to non-chordates and have a slimy body that keep them lubricated for their movement. They are hermophrodite that tranform themselves into both male and female depending upon the need. The body is segmented throughout the length. They breath through their skin, thus they need to keep their skin moist with water.

The major application of earthworm is in vermicomposting industry that has proved to be a beneficial bussiness for many in India. As I remenber , as a part of my core course in the first year of my undergraduate degree we had been assigned to make a vermicompost. Well my first attempt failed ๐Ÿ˜ข, but the second one was a success. The process made me realized the important methods that need to be followed and where i was going wrong.

The above pictures are of vermicompost that i prepared (left) and the earthworms (right) i used in the process. The species of earthworm that i used were Lumbricus rubellus.
